Stereo Total - Paris-Berlin (2007)

Stereo Total is a Berlin-based French-German duo. Members are Françoise Cactus (born Françoise Van Hove) and Brezel ('pretzel') Göring (aka Friedrich von Finsterwalde, born Friedrich Ziegler). Former members include Angie Reed, San Reimo, Iznogood (Iznogoud is the character of a French comic book series by Jean Tabary and René Goscinny) and Lesley Campbell. Their music can be described as a humorous mix of Synth-Pop, New Wave, Electronica, Punk, and pop music. Some of their tracks are playful, low-fi versions of pop/rock/soul songs. In the same vein, they made a pop version of Salt-N-Pepa's electro rap hit "Push It". Stereo Total are a truly multilingual band, singing usually in German, French, and English; as well as other languages such as Japanese, Spanish, or Turkish. The band has covered songs by Sylvie Vartan, Françoise Hardy, Serge Gainsbourg, The Rolling Stones and The Beatles.

A song by Stereo Total "I love you, ONO", from their album My Melody, was used by Sony in a commercial for the Handycam in Europe in June 2005, and was also featured in Robot Food's snowboarding hit "Afterbang". Another one of their songs, "L'Amour a trois", the French version of the song "Liebe zu Dritt" was used in a commercial for 3G-phones in Sweden in the fall of 2005 by the company 3,as well as by the Spanish TV Channel "Cuatro" in an ad for the company. Their song "Cannibale" was included in the console game Dance Dance Revolution ULTRAMIX 4, released in November of 2006.
